Beneficiaries: Currently one student, a second one expected later this year
Area: Siem Reap
For the first time, a graduate of our secondary education program has started a higher education degree in 2015. The tertiary scholarship program started in 2015 and is supervised by the KAKO team in Cambodia. The student works at the KAKO office for two hours per day after classes to earn a small income to learn how to manage money and make small purchases. After her two hours of work, KAKO’s Project Assistant gives the student free English and computer classes for two hours a day, teaching her additional skills and adding value to the CV.
We expect a second student to follow in these tracks later this year. Both scholarships are funded by Philanthropy Connections.
